About

A series of three short films commissioned by the Open Society Foundations to highlight examples of unjust conditions for its worldwide campaign to Stop Torture in Health Care.  The first film, 50 Milligrams is Not Enough, looks at the implications of the restriction of pain medication for a hospice patient in Ukraine.  The film, They Took My Choice Away, tells the story of the forced sterilization of a woman in Namibia.  Violence is Not the Solution follows a young man who was forcibly detained as part of “treatment” for his drug use in Cambodia.

The films were co-directed and shot by Scott Anger and Bob Sacha.  Pamela Chen and Paul Silva produced the series for the Open Society Foundations.
